Adam Schrag

Assistant Professor of Communication in Film & Media Studies and Faculty Director of the Media Arts & Design Lab at Fresno Pacific University.

My research and teaching interests revolve around media aesthetics, media poetics, and multimodal literacy.

I teach documentary studies, visual rhetoric, and understanding media, among other classes.

My current research focuses on network ecologies, media aesthetics, and contemporary military visuality. My book project “Surface to Surface: War, Aesthetics & the Screen,” investigates the entanglement of war and media technologies through an array of screen artifacts drawn from weapons systems, cinema, and media art.
